This 'Saving Private Ryan' crew gift came to me from a private collector for repair and restoration. The cast was very thin around the arm. It appeared there had been a repair attempted previously but had not held. I removed the old glue and repaired it using bronze resin and a a series of pinning to give the broken parts strength. I injected the arm to ensure there was some strength to the whole arm. I made sure that the repair was seamless which can be a tricky task in bronze resin.  I also rebuilt the barrel of the gun which has snapped off. I then used art finishing techniques to blend the repair to the original art work. I gave him a final clean, wax and polish to bring up his beautiful bronze colouring.
