This is an original Prince Charles Spitting Image puppet which came to me from a puppet museum collection. 

 

The puppet head had significant deterioration around his nose and eyes plus the usual cracks in the foam. The eye mechanisms still worked (just about) so I very carefully rebuilt his eyelids to enable them to be opened and closed. However, I do advise against this with these delicate puppets as it will only cause further damage. To preserve them it is best to avoid using any mechanisms.

As always I restored Prince Charles to be sympathetic to its authentic condition, maintaining the original features and paint work and ageing the restored areas appropriately.
