SPITTING IMAGE PUPPET RESTORATION

 

This is an original Margaret Thatcher Spitting Image puppet head which came to me from a private collector.

 

The puppet head needed a great deal of attention having lost a significant amount of her nose.All areas of the head were very fragile. I had to stabilise the foam latex and rebuild the nose and deep holes in her face. I then had to colour match the existing paint finish which is always tricky as the puppets were originally airbrushed and there are several different colours over sprayed.  

 

I restored Mrs Thatcher to be sympathetic to its authentic condition, maintaining the original features and paint work and ageing the restored areas appropriately.
